How can Art Therapy help me?

You will receive professional therapeutic support in a relaxed environment. Stepping out of everyday life for a while gives you time to pause and reflect. Time for you.

Art Therapy can help people of all ages, personalities, all genders and orientations, from children to older people. Whatever your difficulty or struggle may be, this collaboration of person- centred counselling and guided creative processes will support your recovery by increasing self- awareness, gaining a renewed sense of well- being, and an enhanced quality of life.

Creative expression acts as the key to moving forward, as you gather inner strength.

You will also learn skills to take away and practice which encourages self -directed learning and growing.

Do I need to be artistic?

Absolutely no artistic skills, or previous experience is needed, as art therapy focuses on the process ( the doing) rather than the final result. There is no judgement in this space, only curiosity, as you engage with whatever materials you choose to work with.

Images and forms arrive as and when they need to; they are welcomed, accepted and valued, as you are.

You will learn new ways to explore your emotions and challenges, that pay attention to the whole self : body, mind and spirit, in imaginative and creative ways - to bring insights and a deeper “knowing”.

With openness to creativity you allow the sun’s rays to illuminate and enliven your world”
